The International Day of the African Child


The International Day of the African Child, also known as the Day of the African Child, has been celebrated on June 16 every year since 1991, when it was first initiated by the OAU Organisation of African Unity. It honors those who participated in the Soweto Uprising in 1976 on that day.


The African Union plays a crucial role in supporting education in Africa. Through initiatives like Agenda 2063, the African Union aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all. The African Union also collaborates with various organizations to improve access to education and enhance its quality across the continent.

During a fundraising event that aimed to help Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Cameroon, her country of origin, Angèle was recognized with an Award of Excellence in 2019 for her efforts in furthering UNAMA's mission and the United Nations Vision. The ceremony took place at the Permanent Observer Mission of Nigeria to the UN, with the distinguished presence of H.E. SAMSON ITEGBOJE, Ambassador/Deputy Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN, under the auspices of the Nigerian Mission. Angèle own among others degrees, an MBA in Management & Marketing from Universite Nice Cote d'Azur -UNCA and a MS. in Political Sciences & International Relations.
